Throughout the design, development and manufacturing the desire to deliver a Quality product and embodies McLaren’s reputation for creativity, innovation and performance is supported by an ISO/TS16948 accredited Quality Management system. Working to the standard allows McLaren Automotive to remain focused on achieving total customer satisfaction.
After delivery from the McLaren Automotive facility in Portsmouth, UK the vehicle is painted to a world beating flat and polish finish, unique in its class.
After rigorous inspection by the paint shop the painted body then enters McLaren’s state of the art production hall. There each process is electronically displayed on line side computers and after each build station is electronically signed off. At the end of the build process a full electronics test takes place.
Once the vehicle is completed it is handed over to a dedicated test team who confirm the vehicles performance and function. This involves an industry leading water test, a rolling road dynamic platform that is capable of replicating any road surface in the world and then a full road test at dedicated facility to check for performance and acoustic characteristics.
Once those exacting tests are passed the vehicle is then finally prepared for the customer by a highly trained team of inspectors. Using a rigorous checking process the team ensure that all cosmetic and functional features are perfect before releasing the car to the customer.
