MERCEDES-BENZ SLR McLAREN ROADSTER AND LEWIS HAMILTON BOTH WINNERS AT THE GOLDEN STEERING WHEEL AWARDS

The Golden Steering Wheel award for Best Cabriolet 2007, presented by the German newspaper "Bild am Sonntag", has been awarded to the SLR McLaren Roadster. The highly desirable SLR Roadster gained 30% of the votes from a total of 243,855. The "Golden Steering Wheel" which has been awarded since 1975 for the best new cars of the year was accepted by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, (Chairman of the Board of Management Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars) on the same night that Lewis Hamilton collected a Golden Steering Wheel Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2007.
